They’d tried to make a push, but it was simply too late. In that map, they didn’t have a chance and were down early. The battle of the North between the Rokkr and Ultra also saw Minnesota failing in SnD, as they lost 6-3. This caused them to get their win stripped from them and handed to the Rokkr but essentially, they won. They only had two games of SnD but lost both of them.Ī stroke of luck came their way when the Guerillas were caught with an illegal item. So there was some pressure going into the match, but thanks to the play of GodRx as well as some big plays from Assult, the door was slammed shut. They were coming off of a solid 3-2 win against the Seattle Surge before taking on the Rokkr to close out the long weekend. That said, one may argue that Toronto has a better team than New York. Only the Atlanta Faze’ 250-122 victory over the New York Subliners in their second Hardpoint match was a bigger piece of destruction. Dominating Hardpoint in the last match was an understatement. The first Hardpoint match against Toronto was a nail-biter, but the Rokkr hung in there and pulled it off although the Ultra would get revenge in Search and Destroy. Most impressive was their whopping 250-125 victory on their final map. In fact, they wouldn’t lose another Hardpoint map the rest of the way, going 3-0. Although it was a scary beginning against the Los Angeles Guerillas where they fell 250-169, they rebounded. Hardpoint, was where the Rokkr asserted most of their dominance all weekend. However, starting off with the positives is the best thing, as they overshadowed the negative. As impressive they were all weekend, winning both of their games, it doesn’t mean they don’t have some hiccups to fix either. Overall they played well in most areas, and some surprise performances helped them along the way with GodRx and Alexxx. Between all of the game modes being played (Hardpoint, Domination, Search and Destroy), where did they play at their very best?
The Minnesota Rokkr will have some time off to prepare for battle in Atlanta later this month, after getting a good glimpse at them during Launch Weekend.
